Teri Shultz, DVM

Dr. Shultz is a Wilmington, DE native who discovered her passion for veterinary medicine early in life. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. Following veterinary school, she completed a one-year rotating internship at the Regional Veterinary Referral Center in Springfield, VA.

In 2004, Dr. Shultz began her career in general practice at a veterinary hospital in Bear, DE. While working full-time, she also took on emergency shifts on weekends. In 2013, she purchased the practice and successfully ran it until 2020, when she decided to sell the business, finding that practice ownership wasn’t her calling. She continued to serve as the hospital's medical director until December 2024.

Dr. Shultz has a strong passion for rescue and shelter work. She has collaborated extensively with Humane Animal Partners and numerous rescue organizations across Northern Delaware. Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, dermatology, and dentistry.

In 2024, Dr. Shultz fulfilled her dream of living at the beach and relocated to Lewes, DE, where she now resides with her husband, two Chihuahuas, and two parakeets. Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor activities, exercising, gardening, and exploring new restaurants.
